Just because you can’t afford to buy a new mid-engine Stingray doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun with a Corvette.
Just take a look at this 2001 Corvette Z51 that’s described as being “in superb condition” by the owner, who has the car listed on Craigslist out of the Roswell, New Mexico area for just $14,900.
This Corvette is a prime example of how the odometer reading can be misleading. We’ve seen cars with a third of the 97,000 miles on this one in much worse shape, haven’t you?
The senior owner brought the car to its current home in New Mexico after buying it in 2018 out of Tucson, Arizona and describes it as “garage kept, in stock form, completely unmolested, and well maintained.” He even installed brand new ZR Nittos less than 1,000 miles ago, so the new owner won’t have to worry about tires for a while.
In case you haven’t seen a base C5 in this color, don’t beat yourself up because only 443 examples left the Bowling Green factory in this shade known as Dark Bowling Green, by far the rarest color that year. (Another 476 Z06 convertibles were likewise produced, too.)
Features of this car include a removable roof panel, Bose sound system with six-disc changer, head-up display, and the Z51 performance package. Oh, and don’t forget about the stock LS1 engine that pumps out 350 horsepower (up 5 horsepower from earlier C5s)!
