U.S. News Calls the Chevy Corvette the Best Luxury Sports Car for 2022

Chalk up another award for the new mid-engine Corvette.

U.S. News & World Report has named the 2022 Stingray as the Best Luxury Sports Car with a score of 9.1 – edging out two Porsches, the Cayman at 9.0 and the Boxster at 8.9, and the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 tied at 8.8.

The website praised the Corvette for its “value proposition, lightning-quick acceleration, precise handling, comfortable and well-trimmed interior, and intuitive tech features.

Pros of the new Stingray, according to U.S. News, include its sharp handling, blistering acceleration, comfy, posh interior, and useful cargo space, while the only con they could come up with is poor rear visibility.

The website explained how it comes up with the scores of each car, basing the tally on power and speed, quality of cabin materials, ride comfort, handling abilities, and even the engine sound.

The Corvette beat out 13 other competitors to earn the top spot, with the seventh through 14th spots being held down by BMW 8-Series and Lexus LC at 8.7, Mercedes-Benz GT at 8.5, Audi TT and BMW Z4 at 8.3, Acura NSX and Toyota Supra at 8.1, Nissan GT-R at 7.9, and Jaguar F-Type at 7.8.
